Nowadays, getting hold of your emails is usually a daily task for many, either for work or as a hobby because we are subscribed to various channels or websites. Also in many cases we have a large number of contacts and even dates on the calendar in our Hotmail/Outlook account that we would like to have synchronized on our mobile phone or Android device.

Let's go there, we are going to teach you in a simple way how to sync Hotmail contacts on Android among others.

Set up Hotmail or Outlook on Android (2023 edition)

It is not a complicated task, in fact it is much simpler than in the past, since before it was somewhat cumbersome to configure a Microsoft email account and that for some time (thank God) it is already quite simple, because all the devices With EAS (Exchange Active Sync) support, you can seamlessly synchronize emails, contacts and calendar with support for push notifications. Android devices support EAS, so we can use our old Hotmail account or 'new' Outlook.

The best of all is that to synchronize a Hotmail / Outlook account on Android we will not need an extra application, so that it will be possible to do it directly in the mail client that comes by default in Android.

  1. Select Email Client on the device.
  2. Press Menu and select "Add account".
  3. Enter a Hotmail or Outlook address
  4. Enter password
  5. Select Manual setup
  6. Select Exchange when asked: What type of account is this?
  7. Domain / Username, please type the full Hotmail or Outlook address again. Note: If the device only says “Domain”, it is left blank. If the device says "Username", enter the full Hotmail or Outlook email address.
  8. Enter the password.
  9. Server name: enter m.hotmail.com as the server name. (Please note: this field is sometimes filled in automatically, so you have to delete it.)
  10. Make sure the Use secure connection (SSL) box is checked. It must be.
  11. Select Next.
  12. Choose the desired options for the account inbox in relation to email check frequency, number of days to sync, send default email, notifications sync, and contacts / calendar for your account. Select Next.
